Installing a New Bathroom – Behind the Scenes

What needs to happen behind the scenes to install a new bathroom

• Install a new sewer main
• Install a new waste line
• Install a rubber pan liner in the shower

Installing a New Sewer Main

All waste pipelines are connected to the sewer main line. The sewer main is the primary pipeline that carries sewage away from the house. If you are starting a new house you need to install a sewer main line or the line may need to be replaced if it is not functioning correctly.

Installing a New Waste Line

Water from a shower, sink, tub, or other fixture (excluding a toilet) passes through the waste line. If you are installing a new bathroom, a new waste line is required.

Install a Rubber Pan liner in the Shower

A rubber pan liner is used to keep water from leaking through the floor. After the liner is installed, the shower can be tiled.
